Signs That Your Skin Is Asking for a Skincare Change

You put on your favorite cardigan, only to realize that it’s filled with tiny lint balls. They seem like they’re impossible to remove, and they also make clothes look worn out, even when you have recently purchased them. Well, if you’re going through something similar, then don’t worry because we will tell you about 5 ways to remove pills from sweaters. So let’s get started.

  1. Use a razor
Just like people use a razor to shave off a beard or remove unwanted hair from the body, you can use the same razor to remove lint from your sweaters. You can also use a lint roller or tape to pick up all the pilling you have collected after shaving the sweater.
  2. Try a pumice stone
Well, it turns out the pumice stones can be used more than just sloughing the dry skin off your feet. All you need to do is, clean the pilly sweater using the pumice stone and then use lint roller or tape to pick up what comes off, in the same way as the razor method.
  3. Stop pilling in the first place
There’s a famous saying that at times the best offense is a good defense, and that’s surely the case with pilling. There are many steps that you can take to stop your clothes from pilling in the very first place, and many of them have to do with how you wash your clothes. A number of tips are recommended to prevent pilling in the first place. One of those tips includes turning the garment inside out while washing and using a gentle cycle or using a fabric softener to wash sweaters.
  4. Choose a good fabric material
Another way to counter pilling in sweaters is to stay away from sweater fabric that is most likely to pill. A sweater that is made of three-four layers of fibers is more likely to get pilled. On the other hand, tightly woven fabric is less likely to get pilled. Pilling is very less noticed on natural fabrics such as linen, wool, and cotton.
  5. Get hands-on a commercial fabric shaver
We’ve already discussed 4 do it yourself methods for removing pill from the sweater, but if you’re someone who doesn’t mind spending some cash. Then you can go for a gadget specially designed to remove pills from sweaters. You can easily find them online.
