Why Katherine Hepburn was a style icon?
A lot of women become a style icon and changed things for society. One such person was Katherine Hepburn. She began wearing men’s trousers at a time when doing so was very uncommon. She was highly stubborn and insisted on wearing it both on and off-screen along with shoes.
It was not a popular approach in her time, so she alienated some of her audience and even gained a nickname: “box office poison.” Over time she became quite popular as people began to admire her for her fearlessness.

Her laid-back masculine style sportswear is still referenced on the catwalks almost every season– when it came to fashion, she was keen to maintain her dressing.

Costumes range
Across her costume range, the evolution of Hepburn’s “look” is surprisingly revealed. When she was preparing for a role, Hepburn also gave costume designers scribbled notes about the color and fabric ideas. Costumes ideally aided to represent the character of her role. Outfits were consistently essential to Hepburn, and she kept a large portion of them in her New York townhouse, and after her death in 2003, the costumes went to Kent State University Museum.
