Procrastination truly is an exercise in futility, although we don’t tend to perceive this internally. When you break procrastination down to its most basic form, you find the very elements that attack us as people on the inside. Procrastination is a lie, but people don’t see it for what it is. When you make the decision to procrastinate, you have essentially stopped yourself from doing something that has to be done. You are under the impression that you are obtaining some sort of pleasure by not doing the things you have to do. In reality, there is no utility when it comes to avoidance. While you may think you are deriving some sort of satisfaction from avoiding your obligations, you are only hurting yourself. There is a reason why it is so hard to get up early in the morning to exercise, but it feels so good when we are done.
It is fairly bizarre why we are wired the way we are, but we have to understand the fact that our perceptions lead us down the wrong path. If you make the decision to avoid procrastination at all costs, you are going to inevitably be a happier person. You will absolutely have more satisfaction in life, you will have more confidence in yourself and you will have a far higher level of wellbeing. This isn’t debatable and is something you can easily find out on your own. If you make the decision to avoid avoidance at all costs, you will find you are a much more satisfied person.
We are all tempted to avoid doing the things we have to do, as this is a fundamental part of being a human. However, we can circumvent this process and elevate ourselves if we decide to face the fire each and every time we are confronted with it.
Making the decision to do things we don’t want to do right away gets easier over time. If you don’t allow yourself to goof off and simply do what you have to do without hesitation you will start to engage in this behavior as a way of life. There is muscle memory that comes with killing procrastination, as you will find it gets easier and easier as time goes on. While this is a behavioral change that every person on the planet should adopt, each mom should really think about making this a priority. In today’s society, every mom tends to wear a lot of hats.
Most moms are working full-time jobs, while they also have to attend to the kids. This means taking care of household chores, getting kids to and from school and making food for the family. Every mom out there knows that it is tempting to put these tasks aside and avoid them for a while. However, this behavior will put a damper on your day and will leave you unsatisfied. Furthermore, your kids may adopt your behavioral pattern of procrastinating if they see you engaging in avoidance. While it may seem counterintuitive, doing the things that we don’t want to do right away is going to wind up being very beneficial.
